Blood Test Results...

... not good!

For the first time ever, I'm contemplating my mortality and realising that I'm not as young and immortal as I once thought ;)

I recently had a blood test and the results came in yesterday. To be honest, I  know I'm overweight (I work in I.T. so have a very sedentary office lifestyle) but I try to eat healthy, have really reduced my smoking and only smoke occasionally (at weekends or on a night out I might have a cigar or a few cigarettes) and I drink moderately (wine with a meal and a weekly Saturday afternoon down the local pub). Over-all I thought of myself as reasonably fit and healthy.

But the Doctor from Del-Monte.. HE SAY NO!

  • +20% on my cholesterol ratings... *gulp*
  • +130% on my LDL/Triglycerides ... serious *GULP*

So, it's time for a change of lifestyle.

Bullworker Made Me A Better Drummer

Hi All,

I came across Bullworker while browsing the net about 8 weeks ago and was impressed by what it boasted. I've never really done any kind of exercise before and NEVER even attempted to do any weightlifting through fear of pain and the hassle of going down the gym.

Once I found this site though it made me think that maybe this is something I could use, not only to start and build a body I wanted (I'm over 6 foot and was built like a twig!) but also to improve my drumming (I'm a drum teacher/performer and suffer from playing fatigue).

Sitathome program is going very well

I have been following John Hughe's sitathome program, and I must say I am having fun and actually look forward to it everyday (well....5 days a week).  I am down 5lbs and can see areas coming through and I feel better and 'tighter'.   I have basically followed a bodyweight program for most of my life.  I had an X5 back when I was a teenager and started to mess around with it a couple of years ago, that is when I found out about the the SteelBow.  I bought one and palyed with it, but that too started to just sit in the case and I went back to the bodyweight.   This program of counting reps is great and I do 'augment' it a bit with some other movements.  I will post more later.

Thanks.

Dan the Viking's INTENSE BULLWORKER WORKOUT

One of our own Forum members Dan The Viking has devised an INTENSE Bullworker workout regime.

He is an independent Personal Trainer when he's plundering and pillaging and his workout is not for the faint hearted - only the strongest will survive!

Here is a sample:

Train one day on, one day off. Train only 3 – 4 times in a 7 day period. Train doing 2 static reps of each exercise with a 5 – 10 second hold. Note, Static reps are done with 100% effort and held for 5 seconds. Hold the Bullworker in the contracted position – using the power meter as a guide – you must hold the contracted position at 100% of your strength and not allow the bullworker to move away from the point of maximum contraction for at least 5 seconds!!
