Olympics

I hope a lot of you are enjoying the Olympics as much as I am.  Here in the States, it makes for great late night viewing, too.  Interesting how China is really trying to put it's best foot forward and make everything about image, image, image.  From the pre-taped fireworks and then the story of the little girl singing the song at the opening ceremonies...or appearing to sing the song as another girl was lip-syncing to it  (sounds like Julie Andrews and 'The King and I').  Swimming has been fun to watch, but can't wait for the lifting and the track and field and wrestling events.  Chicago is still in line here in the States for the 2016 games, and it would be great if it happens.....but right now just want to sit back and enjoy these games.

Sitathome program is going very well

I have been following John Hughe's sitathome program, and I must say I am having fun and actually look forward to it everyday (well....5 days a week).  I am down 5lbs and can see areas coming through and I feel better and 'tighter'.   I have basically followed a bodyweight program for most of my life.  I had an X5 back when I was a teenager and started to mess around with it a couple of years ago, that is when I found out about the the SteelBow.  I bought one and palyed with it, but that too started to just sit in the case and I went back to the bodyweight.   This program of counting reps is great and I do 'augment' it a bit with some other movements.  I will post more later.

Thanks.

Great Home Run contest before the All Star game

For those in the states, you know the story...either by having watched it on TV or have read it in thepaper or heard of it on the news or on ESPN.  For those outside of the U.S., our Major League Baseball has a 'mid-season' all star game.  The night before it, there is a 'homerun hiting' contest, where various 'sluggers' try to make it through 3 rounds of hitting homeruns.  There was a man who plays for a team out of the Dallas, Texas area, the Texas Rangers, named Josh Hamilton.  When he was a young man out of High School, he was the #1 DRAFT choice.  A phenominal athlete who could do it all.  Fast forward a few years and up to 3 years ago, he was out of baseball, a drug addict, and on a few occasions almost died as a result of having overdosed on drugs.  Not to applaude this, but he went through some rough times.  He is recovered, or continues to recover everyday.  At one point he was about 150 lbs.  He has turned his life around.

world is full of hypoocrisy

Here in the states, it is election year.

Boy, this will be fun.  We have candidates that change positions weekly and others that should be supporting them stabbing them in the back with their tounge and others that are just flat out 'full of it'.

So.....this is why I choose not to watch much TV.  Recently I was in Europe for a trip for work for about 10 days.  I really enjoyed myself and met a slew of folks that i feel fortunate to call friends.

Health Industry loves us to compare ourselves to others

Is it just me or does it seem that we are somehow told to compare outselves to others.  'Look at the results of this guy!!!!Only 3 months....3 weeks....3 days....you, too, can look like this!!!"
