Repair/disassembly question -

Hello, all -

I've just registered after searching for information and discovering this site - glad to have found it!

I am the owner and user of an ORIGINAL Bullworker (fairly confident of this, as I have also searched out history and models); this morning I picked up my unit for some reps, and lo and behold, at the very first compression stroke, with very little pressure applied, something "gave" inside the unit with a weak sproingy sound - it now compresses to the 115 mark with no effort, and the sound of a spring or springs is quite evident, as they are shifting rather freely back and forth inside.

I purchased this unit used on eBay a few years back and have always been quite happy with it, as it appears to have been well cared for. What I'm hoping to learn is:

Can anyone instruct me how to access the innards of the unit? Since it was obviously assembled, I'm hoping there is some logical reverse method that can be followed, but for the life of me, I can't see how it's done.

There is a single rivet at each tube end and they appear to be securing the handgrips, but I'd rather not drill either of these out if there is another way - Many thanks in advance if someone can aid me here...

Sentiment Aside, you may need to buy a new one...

The rivets are there, and me not being mechanical, would not be sure how to get them off, get a new spring (As apparently that's what you need), and get the rivets back on.

You can shop eBay again for one, but prices for the new ones here in the States are resonable.  Bullworker USA or Bow Products might be what your looking for.

Good luck in your search and sorry to hear that your almost indestructible Bullworker is on the fritz.

Sorry to hear about your

Sorry to hear about your Bullworker.

A few months ago a topic was started about disassembly and cleaning of the Bullworker.

Here is the link to that topic with the procedure.

Maybe there is something here that can work for you.

Good luck.
